A woman in her 20s was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with serious injuries

A woman in her 40s has been charged over a knife attack in Dundalk, Co Louth, last week.

Gardaí are investigating the attack, which occurred at around 2.50am in the early hours of October 20 at a block of flats on Quay Street in the city.

A woman in her 20s was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment of serious injuries.

The woman who was arrested has since been charged and appeared in court in connection with the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
