Woman loses toe in hotel room on Las Vegas Strip after telling man $200 is ‘not enough’: police

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A woman lost part of her toe in a hotel room on the Las Vegas Strip after an argument with a man who allegedly offered her money to go to a nightclub with him, documents say.

Las Vegas Metro police arrested 35-year-old Oyefeso Durotimijesu on charges of assault, records show.

“Chaos is the act of unlawfully depriving a person of a limb of his body, or disfiguring it or rendering it useless,” states Nevada state law.

On Monday, Sept. 4, a Metro police officer at the MGM Grand on the Las Vegas Strip responded to reports that a woman was missing part of her toe, documents say. Hotel security held Durotimijesu while the injured woman was taken to a hospital.

The woman said she met Durotimijesu at a bar in the MGM when he invited her to his room, documents say. The two wanted to go to a nightclub on the Las Vegas Strip together and were getting ready when Durotimijesu gave the woman his phone.

Durotimijesu then allegedly took the woman’s phone and “explained in an angry tone not to go through his phone,” the documents say. The woman then tried to call from the hotel room phone, but “Durotimijesu was pressing [the woman] with one hand and pulling the phone with the other.”

The two began wrestling for the woman’s purse when it fell to the ground, but documents said she was able to call for help. At some point Durotimijesu is said to have slammed the door and hit the woman’s foot.

As security approached the room and the woman was bleeding on the floor, Durotimijesu allegedly “threw one object after another while yelling profanities” out of the room, documents said.

Security officials found the missing part of the woman’s toe in the hotel room, sources said.

Durotimijesu told investigators he gave the victim $200 and that the incident was his attempt to get the money back after she said it was “not enough,” officials said. Police files did not reveal the woman’s intentions.

Judge Rebecca Saxe set Durotimijesu’s bail at $5,000. He remained held at the Clark County Detention Center Wednesday and was due to appear in court Thursday.
