Workers are forced to pave around cars after drivers parked engines on the street – despite signs warning of resurfacing

THESE hilarious photos show how workers were forced to pave around cars abandoned on the road during road works.
Two motorists were left red-faced in Helston, Cornwall after the work around their cars was done.
Resourceful workers decided to continue around the obstacles, leaving the Peugeot 306 and Mini Cooper on the old surface while the new one was created.
The snaps show the Peugeot parked right next to a large yellow sign that clearly reads, ‘Surface work. No parking between 6pm and 6am.”
However, their decision to ignore this led to embarrassment when the new black tarmac stopped abruptly at the sign, only to continue about a meter behind the car’s front bumper.
Likewise, the Mini found itself on an old road slab, which is noticeable given that it’s a much lighter color than the rest of the road.
One resident, Vicky Paget, narrated living in Cornwall that signs informing local people of the works had been up for some time.
She said: “It made me laugh after almost zero sleep to be honest because of the noise and how some people don’t pay attention to all the signs and leaflets about the roadworks.
“My kids watch YouTube short films and I thought of the video with the sound ‘You can’t park there’.”
Roommate David Rule added that the mishap made him laugh out loud.
He chuckled, “To be fair, I think the council did a pretty good job bypassing it.”
Online commentators were similarly unsympathetic.
One wrote: “If the cars are damaged in any way, [it’s the] Driver’s fault for not following the signs.
“Have the vehicles removed and have the drivers pay a fee to bring them back.”
Another chimed in: “An expensive towing fee and storage costs should provide plenty of motivation next time.”
