Authorities in the Lone Star State say a man stormed into a Thanksgiving dinner with a gun and killed two people, including his ex-wife. Yonetsy Montriel Granado38, entered a home through the back door Thursday night and opened fire, according to Houston, Texas police.
Authorities initially did not know his whereabouts or his name, but eventually announced Friday that he had turned himself in to San Antonio police.
Officers received a call from an ongoing shooting at 9:18 p.m. Thursday, HPD Assistant Chief Patricia Cantu told reporters. The police arrived at 9:23 p.m. They found four people shot dead inside the home, Cantu said. Two of them were dead. Of the survivors, a 15-year-old boy was shot and is in stable condition, Cantu said. A man was in critical condition in the hospital.
The family was celebrating Thanksgiving with friends and had just finished eating. The suspect, the ex-husband of one of the killed victims, walked in through the back door and just started shooting, Cantu said.
There were four other people in the apartment. When they heard the shots, they ran into the room to be on the safe side.
“The suspect fired multiple shots and even reloaded his gun at the scene,” Cantu said.
“We heard what sounded like fireworks… but there were so many,” said a local Hunter Montgomery said KHOU. “We went in. Literally, a few minutes later, just siren after siren after siren.”

“When we found out he was still sort of at large, we went in, locked all the doors, and turned on the alarm,” Montgomery said. “It’s scary to think that this can happen to anyone.”
The suspect and the slain victim have a baby together, Cantu said.
“It’s a very sad situation,” she said. “It’s Thanksgiving. People are meant to celebrate with their families and we know this was a domestic incident. We pray for the families.”
